Kew is magical at any time, but the Christmas lights trail is an exceptional experience. In keeping with everything they do, the organisation is first rate with no sense of rush or crush, plenty of opportunities to stop and linger, get a drink or something to eat, no massive queues for toilets. Even the music chosen to compliment the spectacular lighting displays seems perfectly attuned to each. It is a wonderful experience and feels like Christmas as it ought to be. Everyone is happy and friendly and polite to each other, no doubt enhanced by the beauty of the surroundings and the breathtaking experience. Go if you can. Very easy journey on the train and less than five minutes walk from the station ( down a street of the most beautiful houses!). The gift shop is filled with quality items both decorative and useful. A leisurely stroll through the Christmas trail and shop, plus a rest break, took us about two hours.
