Review of The Third Space

This is an awesome gym.

This is an awesome gym.

First of all, the facilities are top notch. Their swimming pool is treated with UV light rather than chlorine, and that was a big draw for me initially as I'm sensitive to chlorine. They have a large functional space, lots of free weights, fun equipment (bosus, trxs, etc) and a climbing wall, ideal for those, like me, who shy away from machines. The changing rooms are plush and have a spa-like feel, with great products (GHD hairdryers) and thoughtful little touches (hair ties!). These things make a difference when you spend as much time in the gym as I do.

The customer service is outstanding. They have a lovely Welcome Team who went above and beyond to accomodate me even though I told them I would just be joining for one month this time around. They even threw in a couple of treats and freebies. Terminating my membership was pretty easy- you just give one month's written notice and that's it. Due to travel and moving/relocation, I've joined and quit more than once in the past, and it's never been an issue.

But my absolute favourite part is the quality of the personal training. I train with Will Longhurst, and he's by far the best PT I've ever had. He listens to my needs and designs workouts that I actually enjoy doing. He's got me to go further than I ever thought possible, but also knows when I need to take a step back, and thanks to this I've been able to push my limits without injuring myself.

If you're looking for a swim coach, Arvids is also excellent.
