Ortho Indy has some very good physicians and some ...

Ortho Indy has some very good physicians and some not so good physicians and staff. My concern with the practice is they don t even do feedback or phone calls to their patients to learn about their experience at Ortho Indy. Any one of us who works in healthcare knows that patient feedback is crucial to improving care of the patient.

I ve just seen to many drops in the ball as well from the PA, to the front desk, to the person calling us back to approve and set up my procedure and to educate us. No one seemed to know if the procedure was under fluoroscopy or conscious sedation even when I asked each person point blank and what meds were being used. Then I came to the procedure to find out that I needed to be NPO, they were dropping an IV, and I was getting conscious sedation. Good thing I m in healthcare and don t getting IV s. This unacceptable care for any patient. Even more what about creating better paper instructions for patients getting these procedures. Some of these procedures are very cookie cutter not like emergent procedures which even then you still educate patients on.

Come on Ortho Indy you can do better than this especially for 2020! This isn t the 80 s where you could only call patients for their feedback after procedures. We have secure app technology like My Chart that runs on EMR s like Epic that patients can get sent forms, fill them out, and still follow HIPPA.

Let s focus on patient centric care more in 2020 and stop displaying just physicians on almost every social posts that get no comments from anybody! Focus more on your patients and watch social media interaction improve. Hope this post helps future patients get better care!
