I went here for a friend's birthday party and the overall atmosphere and service was definitely 5 . We were greeted and seated quickly eventhough our full table was not here. Our waiter was very friendly and personable.
The only problem was that it was so dark that it was hard to read the menu, and the menu is printed very small. The menu was my first issue because it provided no explanation to what any of the dishes were which 1. Didn't get me excited about any dish 2. Limited my selection to things I thought I knew what it was. So you basically needed to have already eaten these dishes before or you're screwed because with the amount of choices it's difficult for anyone to ask the waiter to explain each one. So this is a place where sharing plates is encouraged and that's what our table did which was cool.
The food was OK. Based on the price of these dishes I expected bolder flavor profiles(especially with the small portions) and to fall in love with at least one dish. Now remember this is a table of 5 people who ordered different things so I'm not basing this off one entre it was more like around 15-20. Thus, the morning after I'm left not being able to definitively say or remember any dish I ate that was awesome. $420 later, $500 after we left the tip. I can think of 5 other places at half the price that would've been more satisfying.
This is a restaurant you go just to say you went, for the name. I wouldn't recommend it to "Foodies" the food isn't bad but it's not Great. I would only go back for a special occasion not because I just have to have their (Fill in random dish). They just didn't meet my expectations or what I thought I should expect from such a popular restaurant.
