Made a reservation for afternoon tea on Saturday. I was searching for parking near by. However, it seems all the parking around the hotel are expensive. So I called the hotel to ask about the rate. Good thing they give two hours parking for free if you are going to join them for afternoon tea. After two hours, it is $6 per 20 mins. The receptionist was saying all the proper words over the phone but you can tell her tone was impatient. A little bit surprise to get that from a 5 star hotel.

When we arrived on the front area of the hotel, we could not find anyone to help us to violet our car (it is required). Finally, we waved at someone with uniform then he came over to help us. Laurel Court is the place we had our afternoon tea. Service was extremely slow. Our waiter was friendly but he was the only one serving whole section so it was hard to find him. We got our tea about 20 mins and deserts about 30 mins later after ordering. You can try all the teas on the menu. Sandwiches were decent. They used different kinds of breads and cut them in different shapes. Scones were tasty. I was not a big fan of the bottom tray. They were deserts that rotate every week. It is $49 per person. One selection only. I think the price is reasonable for the food and its location.

The restaurant and whole first floor of the hotel need some paint and fix. It is a fancy hotel for sure but you feel it is tired. Marble is not shining. Paints are chipped. Some furniture are dusty. I love the building and I hope they can do a good maintenance to keep its beauty. One thing I also noticed is staff were not warm. I was trying to find restroom and couple of staff saw me wondering around but no one asked me or tried to help. When we went outside to get our car, no one was there. We waited then two staff came back. They saw us but did not ask us why we stand there until we told them we want to get our car back. When we got our car, the driver did not open doors for us but you could tell he wanted tips. We gave him tips but got a mixed feeling. Overall the service level was not very high. I hope this is just one time bad experience.
