After Ryan Kline reached out on LinkedIn to tell me he may have an opportunity that may be a fit and then asked when we could speak, I attempted to set up a time for a meeting. No response to my voicemail, no reasons for falling off the face of the earth, nothing.
When my contract - with another firm- ended, I reached out to him this time. This time he sent Jordan Evans (per her) to contact me. We scheduled a meeting for Friday at 9AM and she confirmed the call time 2 days before.
Guess what. Jordan never showed up for the call.
THIS is the problem with recruiters today. They're simply not "real" or they're now just looking for anyone that will sell themselves out cheaply.
On my original call with Ryan he asked my current rate and didn't balk when I told him so it shouldn't have been an issue. If it was, he should have saved us all time and said so. I would have not taken issue and would have respected his honesty. But that did not happen. He just never responded or returned the call.
Most of these people are just kids right out of school, and/or have very little actual "work" experience. Therefore they have zero idea on what a firm "really" needs.
While I felt my first engagement with Ryan Kline was a failure on his part, it was my second engagement with Jordan that sealed the need for this review. Clearly this is a culture issue and Its important that we ALL take responsibility and post these extremely necessary reviews on these types of businesses. Maybe they'll learn, maybe not.
In any event stay away from this firm. They are completely unprofessional, and very inconsiderate.
