The London eye is an iconic landmark on the Thames...

The London eye is an iconic landmark on the Thames and at the top you can see from miles around. I went to London with my girlfriend and we were both very excited about going to the eye. The line for tickets was not very long and the ticket agent was very helpful in explaining the type of packages you can purchase for other attractions located nearby. We ended up just getting ticket to the eye and no extra attractions. We went just as the eye opened, so there was almost no line for us to get on. I would advise to visit earlier rather than later as the line does get very long later in the day. The ride does not stop for you to get on, so the staff help you get on at an appropriate time. Overall the whole ride lasts around 25 minutes from when you get on to when you get off. I would recommend taking many photos facing the river as there are many other landmarks like Big Ben, parliament and Buckingham Palace in that direction. The Shard is very visible from the opposite direction of the river. The eye also takes a photo of you when the ride is almost over, which you can purchase later. The virtual eye tour is great as well and would recommend seeing it. Overall this is a must see if you are visiting London.
