Ordering office furniture during the midst of a pandemic was never going to be easy, but having stumbled across Furniture At Work and with both my wife and I, working from home with only 1 desk, a must.

I placed the order on Thursday, selecting next day delivery, as we were in desperate need. I had a massive corner desk, which I sold in record time, to clear way for 2 new desks, 2 pedestal units and 1 office chair.

Having received no confirmation of delivery, I decided to follow up with Customer Services. Can't say I was on hold for too long and go through to a polite agent, who promptly advised me of stock issues. She offered to look into it and within minutes of doing so, received an email from them advising me of alternative options, given that the desk I originally wanted wasn't in stock until May. As it also transpired, the pedestals weren't in stock either, but they quickly offered alternatives. In fact Furniture At Work offered upgrades at no cost to me. Having confirmed everything over the phone and via email, they said delivery would now take place Monday.

Come Monday, still nothing - no confirmation or anything. More chasing, this time speaking to Gerald, who proved exceptional given my exasperated tone. Until this stage, I'd not even bothered to look into reviews and was a little mortified to see many negative comments said about them. However, it turns out my number was incorrect, not sure how, but likely my fault. They had been trying to get in touch with me but couldn't get through (an email would have been nice though!) After being put on hold, finally everything was in place and now Wednesday was the lucky day (we hoped!)

On Tuesday, we received delivery of the chair; DPD delivered it who are normally very good at notifying me in advance, offering tracking, alternative delivery options etc. I received nothing, but given we're all on lockdown, it wasn't much of an issue. Wednesday morning I did a little more chasing as no confirmations of delivery were sent, but spoke to Gerald once again, who assured me that our delivery was on its way.

Despite a few communication issues, we finally received the order. The furniture itself is of great quality, easy to assemble and looks absolutely fantastic. Given the pandemic, I think Furniture At Work did a great job and hats off to the team for the great support in delivering my furniture, albeit a little late!
