Quite a surprise really as I never expected the art works here to be so good. It's free entry, I was also very luck as I arrived just as a "Free Tour" was beginning. Our guide (Amber) was very bubbly, fun and enthusiastic. She brought a selection of the paintings alive by explaining the background to the painting and her interpretation of the scene portrayed. The gallery is represented over 4 levels, with the basement level given over to the archaeological revelation of the roman ruins of an Amphitheatre.
The free tours of the gallery are on these days and times: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday: 12.15, 13.15, 14.15 and 15.15.
There is a lift providing Wheelchair access to all floors.
