Had some significant work done on my '11 BMW X5 several months ago at BMW Nashville, and felt like communication was good, especially from service manager Michael J. Was out of town a couple of weeks ago and car wouldn't start, suspected starter or possibly faulty/bad key. Had the car towed to BMW Nashville and was quoted $1,699 for replacing bad starter. Before authorizing work, I contacted a local foreign car repair specialist who quoted me $450 for the same work. So I had car towed there, paid BMW $150 for diagnostic and the repair ended up costing me a total of $450 + BMW's diagnostic fee. I didn't even bother calling to question the $1,200+ difference in cost since I'll get the same canned response about "BMW service is higher quality," blah blah blah. Bottom line is my starter has been replaced and I was back on the road in two days, no problem.
