Without a doubt the best hotel in all of Lisbon. The hotel is located right off Rossio Square, the main square in downtown Lisbon ( Baixa ) at the junction with Rua Augusta and within walking distance to all the main attractions including Praca Do Comercio and Elevador Santa Justa. The hotel is also within walking distance to the important neighbouthoods of Alfama and Bairro Alto , the nightlife area of Lisbon.
The hotel itself is an architectural jewel with an Art Nouveau exterior and decorated balconies overlooking the main Rossio Square. The interior of the hotel is even more intriguing as it conjures eccentric and alternative art decor with an original evocative decorative design blended with modern architecture .The hotel itself feels like a mysterious labyrinth that you would enjoy exploring as you wander through its corridors. Each floor has its own theme such as Zen on the second floor with statues of buddha and flavours of the far east.
There is an urban garden on the second floor where guests can unwind with a drink and a book and a loft on the top floor.
There is a restaurant on the first floor with sweeping views of the Rossio Square where guests can order an authentic meal or enjoy a delicious cocktail while the sun sets on the exciting city of Lisbon.
My room and bathroom were spacious and the shower was fitted with a rainfall shower head. There was also a huge TV screen and there was complimentary coffee and tea with a minibar and room service.
What made my stay the most enjoyable and memorable were the reception staff of the hotel which made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived, They were more my friends than just hotel staff and made it feel like Lisbon was my home town. They were excellent in recommending day tours and activities to do in Lisbon and helped me in every other aspect possible in getting around the city or recommending places and restaurants to go to. They felt more like my own friends in Lisbon.
I would highly recommend staying here and would most certainly be returning as this truly was my home away from home.
