We adopted two older cats (Harry and Tulip) from Hawaiian Humane Society back in May of 2018. The staff and volunteers are nice, and the grounds are well kept. They have discounts on adoptions based upon the time of the year/month, which are always advertised. They will let you play with the cats and walk the dogs to help you in your decision to adopt. Some of the volunteers know more about the animals than the paid staff do.

If you are interested in adopting a pet, I urge you to seriously consider adult pets. Puppies/kittens may look cute to you and/or your child, but they will only be small for a short period of time. You're better off adopting an adult animal that is already house trained and has an established personality.
