Was supposed to stay at this hotel last month but ...

Was supposed to stay at this hotel last month but due to the travel bans put in place I was no longer able to take my trip. I was told I could cancel my reservation for free but have been charged half of my booking amount! Have been chasing up the hotel for over a week but still no response! Really disappointed that Hilton is adding to the already stressful environment
