Honestly the place is not too bad, the reception is nice but the place is very inconsistent. Had inclement weather for the entire trip duration. Prior to booking i was told that they have fire pits running every night from 6-10pm and a boat available for rental. Turns out that they didn t have a single fire pit running. Who wants to go on an outdoors adventure to Muskoka region with no bonfire at all? that was very disappointing. Suddenly they switched to fall hours which means they only run it on weekends. To top things off, during the times it was not raining they wouldnt have kayaks or canoes available. We were told that they would be available until 6pm. first day we got there they suddenly changed it till 5 pm, the next day suddenly we cant use them after 4pm. So you end up literally staying in a hotel room watching their TV paying 400$ for two nights just to sit around and watch TV. To make things worse the activity desk which was scheduled to close at 8pm according to what i was told, was closed at least 1.5 hours earlier than they stated and you literally end up with nothing to do. Now i brought a laptop with me and was wiling to spend the boring two days sitting watching Netflix, to my surprise the wifi is literally the worst wifi i have experienced in 2019. It rarely connects and when it does, you will be buffering video for a long while. All in all the experience was pretty lame and i ended up checking out an entire day before and was not offered any compensation or refund of any sorts. It really sucks because you end up having nothing to do and no where to go. I d change this review had i had a normal experience, like at least a fire. Also worthy to note that there are no barbecues that you can use yourself and you re not allowed to bring your own. Not a good outdoors experience at all. When talking to the lady at the front desk she let me know that they had a fire going on at the front of the resort, but there are no chairs to sit around and its just a centre piece for when your first enter the resort, not a place to sit around. So i ended up literally driving 3 hours not being able to do anything or use anything useful from their facilities. Not worth paying 400$ to sit in a hotel room and watch HGTV. When checking out a day earlier I wasn t offered any compensation and there was no questions as to why I m leaving a day earlier. Very inconsistent hours of operations and it seems like every sector of the resort operates by whatever they feel they want. I wont retract this 1 star review unless i get a partial refund for my boring stay. If anyone is looking for a true outdoors experience this isn t the place to go. If they had told me the truth about the bonfire before i called and booked I wouldn t have booked in the first place.
