My husband's account had been sold to Resurgent. I called to inquire the amount owed and was told that she wasn't legally allowed to speak to me without his social security number. I had to call him at work, then when I called again with the social security number another lady refused to give any information, including mailing address without him giving permission to talk to me.
These people were so rude and nasty about it, throwing the word "legal" around like it were a football! Most unprofessional!!
Now, my husband works late, by the time he comes home from work, the office is closed! The reason I am the responsible party on this!
All I wanted to do was make that debt good.
Seriously, if some stranger wanted to pay off one of my bills, they certainly do NOT NEED my permission!!
