Andrew CartwrightReview ofThe Reindeer Centre

We had planned to come to the Reindeer centre after visiting the shopping village place in Ashford - got there about 1ish and it was all a bit quiet. After paying we got escorted straight into see Santa, they obviously normally prepare for quiet a queue so it was nice not to wait (I suppose it pays off going in november and on a weekday!) Young 'un had a chat with an elf (I say 'chat' in all honesty it was more me and the missus talking to her...!) Little man was given a santa hat and we went in to see the big man himself. Poor old santa, he did try to get small person talking albeit with little success, was impressed that they picked up on some of the convo with the elf (ie. Fav Paw patrol Character etc.) Little man was more keen on opening his present and Santa was happy for him to open it with him (it was nice not to just be rushed through!!) We also managed to get a photo in with the baby...
After seeing Santa we went through to the grotto which then led into the cafe area (and opportunity to buy photo if you asked for one - nice that they didnt pressure us in to this or expect a photo. What do people actually do with these photos?!)
Decided to have a burger and a hot choc at the cafe, both of which was nice and fairly priced, even got told we could keep the cup as a souvanier ;-)
In the main barn we got to see the animals. Was a bit worried about this as the wife had been googling just before we got there - happy to report all looked good. The staff were very nice and helpful (and seemed like they enjoyed being there - which is better than a lot of places!) The reindeer were lovely and very friendly as was the other animals. Young 'un enjoyed playing on the trikes and in the artificial snow - but most of all he loved the sleigh ride whilst he rung a bell (all credit to the chap who was pushing the sleigh about - had our whole family in there at one point!!)
