I'd be into this place, if it were like afairly priced, underground cafe. It seems hidden as an empty warehouse with a few random folks chilling in the lot in patio chairs. There are crates with pieces of plywood attached that you can turn into table and chairs. Or you can sit on the single random bleachers or the randomly placed strip bar inside. However, approach the counter and you'll encounter a bill of $6 for a cup of coffee, comparable for a cup of tea. Their sell point is beans roasted on site and individually brewed in pour overs. I brew In a chemex pour over at home, and an 8 cup pot made from organic beans cost me less than a dollar. Their lattes and hazelnut milk are disappointing, honestly. They don't taste like much more than sourness.Plus wifi connection is slower than expected.
This would be such a cool concept, if it were geared toward artists and communities into great coffee, instead of being part of the gentrification of Culver City.
The one things I haven't tried is the cupping on sundays at noon. (Free coffee tasting). This seems worth checking out if you're thinking about investing in their coffee.
