I love the Sands! The rooms have a great view and during the summer there are pool parties like every other day. The rooms are nice for when you just want to relax and enjoy the city lights through your floor to ceiling windows, and when you're not relaxing its just a short elevator trip downstairs where you can eat, drink, listen to live music and maybe try your luck at the slots or the blackjack tables. Oh, and last but most definitely not least, if you're looking for a good restaurant, look no further! Mel's Diner is the Sands own personal 50's themed restaurant and the food alone will keep out of towners coming back to reno frequently! I absolutely would stay at the Sands again and I give it 5 stars! Only small complaint I have would be that the security is a tad overbearing. They're always hovering over your shoulder and inquiring about every sudden move you make as if you are doing something you shouldn't be which of course, I never was. So, that was somewhat irritating but very minor on the list of things that can go wrong when staying at a hotel. Overall, I am very pleased and give this hotel five stars!
