Truly awful company, with extremely unprofessional management and unethical practices.

DMBA for specialty pharmacy authorization uses a third party company (Magellan). After just four days Magellan rejected my vital medication claim, because they had not heard back from my doctor. My doctor was shocked they rejected it so quickly as they were in the process of sending over the information. Magellan than falsely notified both my physician and I needed to go through the DMBA Physician appeal process after just FOUR DAYS. This was of course a lie. Per DMBA policies, my physician had 30 days to submit supporting documents to Magellan before going through the lengthy appeal process. This insurance "error" has cost me months without my specialty medication and permanently damaged my health.

As instructed my physician submitted all the information for the DMBA appeal.

Now over FOUR MONTHS into the DMBA appeal process, (that never should have happened) it is still pending review, with no timeline for review. This is ridiculous, and should not be allowed. This is absolutely destroying my health. It has been FOUR months since my doctor submitted the review information to DMBA and DMBA still has not reviewed the claim.

DMBA is responsible for their third party contractors and contractually obligated to make sure they follow DMBA policies, however they are allowing their contractors to violate the terms of the policy. This is highly unethical.

Lack of knowledge at the DMBA call center is a chronic problem. When you call you are given several DIFFERENT answers.

The most unprofessional person I spoke with is the DMBA manager. Who offered no solutions for their contractors error. Instead lied and said he had no way of contacting Magellan about this (of course he could do a three way call). He simply didn't care they violated the terms of our contract, or finding a solution. He was rude, demeaning and spoke with an unprofessional tone. In fact, I had to ask him why he was yelling at me and ask him to speak in a professional tone.

Insurance companies are required to act in good faith, with honesty and in a timely matter, all of which I have been denied.

I pay a $1,000/MONTH for my DMBA health insurance. For what?
