I purchased a 1998 Dodge Intrepid, we were desperate, my husband had started a new job and our only vehicle's engine went. Our only option was to finance. We saw the Intrepid on the lawn and it was low in price. Everything seemed ok with it. After financing the $2500 car became $5000, the salesman could get me a good deal. YEAH NOT! But we were desperate! We had no vehicle. I've had the car for a year now and have pumped over $1000 into repairs thankfully because a good friend of mine is a licensed mechanic and cut me a deal at his shop. I called Fremont Ford about the issues I was having and they said to me " these are normal problems with a car that has 160,000 miles on it" the first issue was the spark plugs, old rusty spark plugs but brand new wires...hhhmm doesn't take a genius to see what happened there! So far i have had to replace the entire timing chain unit, radiator, all the hosing and what not that goes to the cooling system, water pump, now the rod has blown and they offered no help, not even a discount to help me get the car running. They want me to come back in and re-finance something else. I expect a car with high mileage to have some issues, its a given. But to be treated like complete crap and being told "it was just a $5000 car" well $5000 is alot to me! So now I am stuck paying on a dead horse that is sitting on my lawn because its not worth fixing. I will never be dooped by Fremont Ford, I will take my business to a dealership that values their customers and really is out to get people a good deal and takes care of their customers after they drive off the lot.
