I am a frequent business traveler, and have stayed in many five star hotels, including hotels in Hyderabad (Grand Hyatt as well). I don t write reviews as mostly I didnt need to write one until now.

I booked Hyatt Gachibowli due to proximity to the airport and my meeting place. Since I had a long travel before reaching Hyd in the morning, I had called the hotel twice to see if they will allow early checkin. They always said depending on availability which makes sense. I reached the hotel at 9am and requested early checkin. They had a room free they said, but they will charge me for one more night extra, for few hours. I said that is too much, and after 3 minutes, the price came down to half. I found it still high, for 5 hours extra, for a room that was already free. Price per night is 14.72k plus taxes btw. They refused to give me a room at a third the price, despite being available. This is for a Hyatt loyalist.

They opened the spa for me to freshen up, which I used and left for my meeting.

The price I paid per night was five star rate, but the service, personel training and infrastructure is not more than 3 star. The infrastructure is old, needs refurbishment. The staff at the reception and room service are mediocre. The hotel car drivers for example are brash drivers (driving dangerously at 80, where speed limit is 40).

The food is mediocre, Indian dishes were ok, but the salad that came along was totally dry. The buttermilk watery with no taste.

The duty manager wanted to speak with me in the evening, but never turned up.

Net net this is a 3.5 star hotel, which charges you high 5 star rates. Will never come back to this hotel.
