I was sent here by my doctor's office back in February due to (what was later diagnosed at another hospital) as a life threatening reaction to a medication I was prescribed less than 2 days prior. I arrived at the ER with shortness of breath and tightness in my chest. I was triaged and 3 hours later, as my symptoms were getting worse, I still had yet to be seen for what was going on. When I asked to see a nurse or a doctor because I was getting worse and couldn't breathe, I was told to continue to wait and I would be seen as soon as possible. I told my husband I was leaving and going to another hospital. Within 15 min of arriving at Valley Medical Center, they ruled out my heart wasn't the issue and treated me immediately. It turned out to be a reaction to the medication and it was causing those symptoms and my throat to close up. I was given meds to reverse it, kept overnight and released the next morning. I wouldn't go back here if it was the only hospital within 100 miles.
