There were pros and cons about NEAS, but I encount...

There were pros and cons about NEAS, but I encountered a situation that didn't sit well with me so I adopted elsewhere. I was impressed with the dedication and honesty of most employees. I met with many councilors who were up front about dogs needs and was able to have great discussions to figure out the age and size of dog I was looking for.
My first time there I met a woman who I won't mention by name on here but each blue card I brought up she would scoff and say what a bad dog they were, that they were returned and that they were just messes. She told me that almost all the dogs in the shelter at that time were "unadoptable". I decided to avoid her throughout the rest of my adoption process and it worked, until...
I had met with a dog and councelor, really fell for the dog and was ready to adopt. The morning of adoption the dog was quarantined for nipping someone during play. I was assured this was not aggressive. By law I had to wait. My landlord had approved the dog and we were all set.
I called just to check if there was a way to do the paperwork while we wait for the 10 days to be up. The woman I mentioned before kept calling her a "he" and was so negative about the dog. I could tell on the phone she was looking for a fight so I asked her to have a manager call me, and asked her name.
This particular woman went out of her way to call my landlord and told him this dog was aggressive (she was not). My landlord immediately called me. When I got in touch with the shelter because i felt that was an abuse of my privacy, she told her manager my landlord had a breed restriction (for a dog he already approved?).
The manager was apologetic and told me that it was not policy to notify a landlord and she felt bad but in the end nothing could be done. My heart breaks for that dog that still hasn't been adopted and I hope the situation was rectified by management. I want to again mention I did meet a lot of awesome, honest and supportive volunteers and councilors but I just couldn't move past what I felt was a vindictive misuse of my personal information by that individual.
