The package was simply placed in the public hallway.
Apparently the parcel carrier had no ambitions to take the elevator to the second floor and to hand in the parcel properly. Instead, a friendly fellow man did it for him.
I then no longer need a DPD for this. I would rather look for another service provider who works more reliably.
Of course, I will pass this information on to our sales department, who may not necessarily send their packages with DPD.
This occurrence can be observed quite often in our house, where parcels are simply placed in the hallway and then you can find the log on the floor outside the door.
