Wonderful hotel complex, specified as a five star hotel, located directly on the sea with its own beach, which is very well maintained and on which there are always enough loungers and parasols. In addition, several pools, including a spacious 50-meter pool that invites you to swim laps. Overall, the distribution of the pools is cleverly placed so that you can always find a quiet spot, even if you are not a beach-goer.
Everywhere, the extremely friendly staff paid great attention to compliance with the corona hygiene concept, without the guests noticing this. This also continued with the food - half board. Behind plexiglass panes, the dishes, etc. presented in buffet form were placed on your plate by the staff. The concept works amazingly well and also has the advantage that guests don't shovel food onto their plates in an uncontrolled and unsavory way and leave half of it lying there. The hotel will surely save a lot on food. The food is very tasty and varied. With reference to Corona, the rooms are only cleaned every two days, which is not understandable, but is not a real problem.
The rooms in the best price category do not correspond to a five-star level in terms of equipment. This applies above all to the bathroom, which is still equipped with a shower curtain - unfortunately dirty on arrival - and has no sockets.
Upon arrival, when checking in, it was suggested that you would even get an upgrade because of Corona. The initial joy was followed by disillusionment on inspection of the room. When asked about the furnishings in the usual rooms, we were not given an answer. We were then offered an upgrade to the next higher category for a price of 95 per night. With 14 days so just under 1300 . Not acceptable at a travel price of around 3000 (half board without drinks). From our point of view, a 5-star hotel must also offer this level in the cheapest room category and cannot only start offering this level in the higher room categories. This is definitely not the case with the best price rooms. The rooms with the not very attractive bathrooms are only on a 3 star level.
It was also annoying that although the pools were open from 8 a.m., the cleaning by the staff took place at this time. So in the morning you unfortunately swam back and forth between hoses and had to put up with annoying looks from the staff. At the request of reception that this could be changed, we were asked to contact our tour operator. That also doesn't testify to customer friendliness. Actually, the hotel should be happy that guests come back to vacation despite the pandemic that has not yet been overcome. Unfortunately, it didn't always seem like that with the senior staff at the hotel. The care of ByeBye trips before the start of the trip was unfortunately miserable. The availability of contact persons was almost impossible. With such a performance towards loyal customers, the question arises whether the industry is doing enough itself to overcome the crisis. Our experiences speak against it.
Overall, however, you will be compensated by the great holiday country Greece and its consistently fantastic weather and climate. We're going back to Greece.
The hotel is also recommended and we would go back.
