PENSIONERS BE WARNED! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My mum is a 70year old lady on a pension. After agreeing to a full service of a Brivis Unit which was in Excellent working order, the serviceman from Fairbairns opened the Pilot lamp panel, and reported that it should be immediately shut down and replaced. Eventhough, the unit was working perfectly fine 5 minutes prior to his visit. She was charged $150 although the unit was never serviced, due to a supposed fault found by the service technician. Glenys at their office who took my mum's phone call suggested part of the payment will be refunded after consulting management. Soon after the payment was cleared, within minutes, the manager Rick called back and said No Refund. Very unhappy with their service, She feels as if she was ripped off and taken advantage of. $150 of her pension is now gone and she got nothing out of it. An expensive call out fee with no servicing done whatsoever. Taken up matter with Consumer Affairs. Even Energy Safe Australia feel that Fairbairns did the wrong thing by charging her a costly service fee for a system that was never even serviced.
