In A Nutshell:

In A Nutshell:

-The Fairmont in San Francisco is the "original" .
-Along w/ the hush-hush Pacific-Union Club across the street, the Fairmont survived the infamous 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
-You can see many old photos of the disaster in the lower levels of the hotel.
-As you would imagine this iconic & old hotel has been updated some, but still keeps it's original feel.
-Therefore, don't expect a modern-style hotel.
-The room I stayed in was smallish, but had a very comfortable bed & clean bathroom.

Overall, the service was great & the location was perfect since you in "money" Nob Hill, which is close to Grace Cathedral, Union Square, City Hall & popular, hip Polk Street.
