My mom has been living in a Dolan home for over a year, and it has far exceeded my expectations. Dolan has provided a loving, happy environment for Mom where she continues to thrive. Moving Mom into a memory care home was such a difficult decision for my family; if we d known how easy the transition would be for her, we might have done it sooner. The Dolan staff provided everything needed for Mom to have a smooth transition as she moved into her new home. What I most appreciate about Dolan is how they customize the care for each resident in a small home setting. The staff is perceptive about tuning into Mom s particular habits and preferences and meeting her needs. They are kind, skilled, and a lot of fun. There is lots of laughter in Mom s house. The staff genuinely enjoys the residents and there is a family atmosphere that continues to impress and amaze me. My mom has always loved being outdoors, and she can come and go freely into the lovely, large patio and back yard. It is secure and safe, but she can go in and out of the patio door on her own with a feeling of freedom. The house is arranged for family living and doesn t have the institutional feel of other facilities. The residents watch television together in the living room, eat together around a big dining room table, and enjoy lots of daily activities. Mom has made friends with other residents, and that companionship means that she is never lonely. Musicians visit the house regularly for sing-a-longs that I often attend and enjoy with Mom. The rooms are bright, cheery, and decorated like a home. Holidays are celebrated in a big way with parties, food, and decorations that include the families of residents and staff. I am so grateful to Dolan for providing such superior care for Mom. Alzheimer s is a difficult disease, but thanks to Dolan my family continues to enjoy happy times with Mom. I never knew that it was possible for her to be so content as she lives with this disease. I m so grateful to Dolan for that!
