The city's premier modern and avant garde art museum. Individual exhibits may be hit or miss depending on your tastes, but you can be assured that anyone featured will be of a reasonable level of critical renown. My favorite exhibits have been retrospectives of the careers of Edward Hopper, Alec Soth, and Cindy Sherman. The sculpture garden is worth a midsummer stroll, as well.
