My experience there overall was positive, I got out of my BFA in Fine Arts what I put into it myself and gained accordingly. I can't compare it to Pratt or NYU or any big name school, but I WAS a pain in the butt towards my instructors for some good and not so good reasons, BUT I asked a ton of questions spent my life in the printmaking and painting studios -demanded feedback and guidance and got it. Like any other art instruction you will get a leaning towards modern but if you WANT to learn traditional or illustrative technique -ASK questions and do the work yourself and you will get there regardless of what fancy school you go to! My classmates really made the difference for me. They were warm and supportive as were most of the Instructors and thats saying alot. It's hard to fault the school if you can't plan a career with an art degree. Hopefully at the present day they have modernized and faculty are willing to say to kids: "If you want to earn a living, TEACH, market yourself doing this and this or here are some ADDITIONAL career paths other than retail where you can be happy!" I wish I heard those words but found out on my own, thankfull it turned out ok.
