Wow... What happened to this place? First of all, ...

Wow... What happened to this place? First of all, it's no longer simply The Palace, but rather, Lotte New York Palace (Lotte is a Korean conglomerate that owns everything from bubble gum to shoes). Secondly, this hotel now feels like a glorified Hampton Inn. I remember just a decade ago, the Palace was a magical, aspirational place.... But now, it serves old expired drinks and candy bars in the in-room mini bar, and at just $250/night, seems to be positioning itself as a budget player. I'm so confused.....
