We had a fantastic week-early Valentine's lunch at Arrogant Butcher. We arrived on a Sunday right before it opened at noon. Seats there offered a pleasant place to wait, and the bathrooms were right there as well. The attendant at the door remembered that we had arrived there second and seated us second as soon as the restaurant opened; that attention to detail was appreciated.

Our server, Gabrielle, took great care of us throughout our visit. We definitely indulged. My husband had a Kilt Lifter while I had a yummy cocktail, Wind Me Down Slow. For an appetizer, we ordered two separate items that came out together on a platter: Prairie Breeze cheddar cheese and salumi, which were served with fantastic fresh toast and a cherry marmalade. I could have used a little more cheese for the expense, but really enjoyed everything on the platter.

My husband had the prime rib French dip and greatly enjoyed it. I snagged a fry and thought it was excellent. I had a beet and kale salad, which was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly dressed (a rarity!) with a good concert of textures and flavors; the goat cheese was extraordinary. To top off the meal, we shared a sticky toffee pudding. Wow, was that good. It wasn't heavy like some puddings, but light and sweet, and the coffee chantilly cream alongside it was just divine.

Also, if you park in the garage at the facility, the server will validate the ticket. Hooray for free parking in downtown!

I would definitely come to The Arrogant Butcher again. Great food and service, pleasant environment--it has it all going on.
