My new husband and I went here for our honeymoon this past October. There was construction going on the whole time we were there from morning until night on a big part of the resort. We were not told this would be happening during our vacation. One of our butlers was terrible. I e-mailed customer service last week about some issues I had with my husband and I's visit to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I did not appreciate the e-mail that the "General Manager" replied back to. I thought it was very unprofessional and quite offensive. I discussed with him some issues that I had and he made it seem like it was not a big deal and that my concerns did not bother us. It obviously bothered us and put a damper on our honeymoon or I would have never e-mailed them in the first place. I am extremely upset that Carl Otto Beviere did not even acknowledge some things I had said. We spent thousands of dollars to come to this resort when we could have chosen any other company. (Wish we did now) I have been dreaming of coming to Sandals with my husband for years. Now that we did I am just let down in ways with how our experience was. We should have been told that there was going to be construction, we could have chosen another one of their resorts. It DID affect us because we had to walk past it to go anywhere else on the resort. We were located at the very end of the resort. Not only did we have to walk past it, but we had to listen to construction workers making wolf calls at me. Not to mention the noise of all the construction. I TOTALLY understand that they want to improve their resort but it still would have been nice to know it would be happening while we were there. Carl's response was that there is nothing on file for my complaints. I e-mailed them on the website when we returned so that is not my problem. I am not one to put myself in a uncomfortable situation, so I am NOT going to complain about one of our butlers not being great while we are still there. That would have made it VERY uncomfortable. I surely am not going to complain on a construction worker either. I was in another country, who knows what could have happened to me by doing that. I just can't express enough on how upset and disappointed I am. I am soo offended by the way my concerns have been handled. This was suppose to be the trip of our lives after spending so much money to come to this resort. Don't get me wrong, we did have some positive experience's there as well. There were a few workers there that really made us have a GREAT time! They e-mailed me after I complained for a "goodwill gesture". That is what Carl kept referring to in our e-mails. I was not e-mailing him just to get a "goodwill gesture" . I wanted him to care about my complaints. My last e-mail he told me that no further correspondence will be sent in this regard. That is UNACCEPTABLE for a well known resort to handle a problem like that. He pretty much told me I am done discussing this have a nice day.
