Ordered a reagent from TRC as part of my master's degree. The building block for my total synthesis ended up beeing a cheaper and WRONG chemical, as their QC hadn't been done correctly and was constantly updated to us after we bought said product. As a result of this, I spent almost a year optimizing a synthesis which inevitably was bound to fail, since the reagent sold to us was a 40x more costly version of a cheaper one. Yup, I wasted a year of my life working on a synthesis which was doomed from the beginning. We eventually found out the culprit and ordered from another company.
