Shelby Dougherty Review of Maison Astor

This tucked away hotel in the heart of the popular sites gave us a quiet 2 night reprieve from our busy days of tourism. Our balcony king suite had a LR w/fold out sofa bed and separate bedroom with king bed. The terrace was large - both rooms opened onto it. Decor nicely done and updated modern bathroom. Extremely clean. Comfy beds and pillows. High ceilings. Enjoyed the 2 TVs. Great strategy on putting 2 USB charging slots on both sides of the bed. Staff helpful and has connections - got us same day dinner reservations at Le Grande Colbert. Our suite was street side and we had no noise at night, affording us a restful sleep to prepare for the sites to be visited next day. European breakfast buffet was tasty with plenty of hot and cold food options, juice, bakeries, etc. The dining room glass ceiling was unexpected and simply wonderful, allowing sunshine (or precipitation) to be seen and not felt.
Our 27 yr old daughter was traveling with us, totaling 3. When taking that into account, the suite is simply too small for 3 people dragging luggage for a month in Europe. I advise only 2 people for any room at the hotel. At least in our suite, the bathroom sink takes the entire counter space so ladies prepare to keep your toiletries in the closet or bag. The rooms have indirect lighting with none overhead.
I reccomend this hotel for the solo or couple traveler(s) with little luggage and excellent vision. While it wasn't absolutely perfect for us, it should work well for others. I do recommend.
