No doubt the facility is clean and I enrolled my two kids after getting good recommendations from atleast 3 friends (whose kids have been going to Monarch for sometime). Given below are the three incidences that left a bad taste in my mouth:
(1) My elder daughter went on a field trip (summer program) to Science Center with the school. In the morning some child from the group poked a plastic stick (by mistake) in her eye and she got cornea abrasion. Yet, nobody from the school called me and informed me. I went to school in the evening (around 4pm) to pick her up and that's when I learnt about it. Her eye was hurting bad and watering too....I rushed her to urgent care center in Waterford lakes. I'm disappointed that during the field trip there were 4 grown up teachers but nobody cared to inform me. I'm disappointed the way they handle accidents and reports them.
(2) My little daughter is getting sick too much in the daycare. I had enrolled my 1 and 1/2 yr old child in day care in August and just in 3 months she has gotten hand-foot-mouth disease to pharangyitis (sore throat) to numerous viral fevers/infection. It concerns me that how much time I have spent in pediatrician's office/urgent care/emergency room.
(3) I wish they would better display their late fees guidelines clearly on the School bulletin board. They just charged me $25 to $50 late fee for not paying fee on time. My child was sick whole week and there is no way I will take sick child to School to make payment. $50 will not make me poor but I think it is a cheap stunt to extort money from parents.
