The great hall is a fine example of a Tudor building and, while built after the late medieval period despite appearances, gives a good idea of how the surrounding Sussex countryside dwellings may have appeared in the days that saw near-by Bodiam Castle dominate local life.

The extensive gardens offer plenty of good walking with a pretty extensive variety of shape, colour, and smell, as you would expect given who owned the property.

A must visit.
