We went to this place because it was recommended by a few locals. We were looking for an "authentic" Cajun food / music experience. The food was perfectly average (I had the blackened seafood platter and she had the house specialty - Mulate's catfish). Honestly on par with food we had at a few dive-ey bar / food spots. And the biggest disappointment was the music. The other thing we had been looking for was a place with good Zydeco music, which seemed the quintessential NOLA experience. The band was okay, but took 5-8 minute breaks between each song! I've never seen a band delay so long between each song in a set. We got to hear maybe 4 songs before we had to go. Overall really disappointed.
