The SLS may be a good hotel if you re vacationing....

The SLS may be a good hotel if you re vacationing. And even so, it seems that not every employee is in the same page to provide accurate information nor excellent service.
Business wise? It s a financial clutter of BS and an inconvenience to do or arrange anything!
Something as simple as the following:
My company ships 2 boxes for a presentation I did with our business partner. I was told upon arriving, ( Christina, a manager.) that there will be a charge to send the boxes to my room or directly to the conference room. Ok, I have no problem with that. What can it possibly be $40.00 max?
I asked the front desk girl for my boxes. At first they couldn t find it there in the hotel because supposedly it didn t have my name. It did. She tells me is $70.00. She explained that FedEx ( in the 2nd floor of the hotel.) charged me that amount for holding my boxes for 2 days.
I payed it $60.00 cash $10.00 on my personal credit card. I m not sure why I had to pay it if the hotel had our company s business Credit Card on file.
She hands me receipt. $125.00!!!!!!! Feel free to open the attachment.
I questioned why these charges and what they meant?
This became a debate with the front desk girl. It s ok if you don t know, just get me someone that does. But instead, I was told by this unprofessional front desk persons that she didn t like my tone simply because she wasn t sure or didn t know herself. She refused to continue to speak to me!
A director from my company calls and I was refunded $70.00. Yet!!!! They charged the business Credit card the $125.00.
As my 2 boxes are being sent to my room,
A manager Aaron, Explains the following:
Porterage $70.00 A Union Law that is charged to pay the bellman/doorman for his labor in lifting the boxes.
Ok? Aren t these people your employees? Isn t taking boxes or packages to any room/rooms part of their job description?
FedEx Office $55.00. That s the correct amount that was charged for holding my boxes in the hotel for 2 days.
Later that same day I go back to the front desk and ask for assistant to get these boxes to the conference room. I was charged $20.00. What?!
I asked if I can use one of their carts, and was told We are not allowed to lend them out to our guest. I felt everything but never like a guest.
Again, feel free to open the attachments.
I travel intensively. I ve stayed in numerous hotels. I had NEVER been charged for all this. No wonder they keep remodeling, this is a scam. I know that I can not be the only one this has happened to at the SLS.
Our Business partners chose this hotel. I can assure the owner of this Hotel, that I will be staying at another hotel if next year the classes are held here.
