This is a genuine review, and I have not been paid to write this.

All too often we find ourselves quick to write bad reviews, as these are the easy ones to write because we are motivated by anger, and we just want to be heard when we feel we were ignored.

Less often we take the time to write a good review because we have nothing to complain about - the experience was as expected to be, so we continue on with our life without the courtesy of leaving a good review.

I am guilty of both situations. It is definitely easier to write either about a horrible experience, or an exceptional experience.

The writing of this review is motivated by an exceptional experience over a 6-day hospital stay.

First and foremost, it is my very strong opinion that the ratings and reviews of Hollywood Presbyterian unjustly tarnish the reputation of this facility and the staff that work there.

It is in my experience, that the staff, ranging from the security people to the surgeons.

Every single one of them provided exceptional care, and/or demonstrated genuine compassion. In the absence of either, there was at least common courtesy and respect.

The staff that we experienced definitely does not deserve to be lumped into the negative reviews you may read about, as the staff mentioned in this review are truly wonderful people.

This review is not to say that the people with negative reviews are wrong, but more so that not enough good reviews are being reported to provide an accurate rating.

Like you, I initially read the reviews of Hollywood Presbyterian, and was put off by what I read.

The night security guard at the ER door on Friday, August 23, 2019 was the very first person we encountered as my girlfriend was being wheeled in by the paramedics. The security guard welcomed us and said something to the effect of I hope you feel better soon ..

We encountered many staff members that were very caring, compassionate, respectful, and attentive to needs. Even though they had many other patients to assist, we never felt neglected.

During physical therapy, when my girlfriend was first able to walk again around the entire floor, she received encouragement from the nurses as she passed by them.

On this Labor Day, I would like to recognize the following staff, and sincerely thank them for their service towards getting my girlfriend healthy again. I wish I could do more for each of them, other than send thanks and words of appreciation.

The staff does such a wonderful job, and if you consider that for some of them, the job of caring for others doesn t stop at work, but continues at home - this makes them exceptional for being able to constantly care for people.

My apologies if I list their titles incorrectly.

Additionally, I found the hospital very clean and very well kept with convenient accommodations like the cafeteria, the vending machines not only for food and drinks, but also flowers and gifts, and the Infused water dispenser in the hospital lobby area.

Based off of my personal experience, I highly recommend this facility for hospitalization care. God forbid, but if we had to go to the hospital again, we would go to Hollywood Presbyterian.

Our deepest appreciation and thanks. All the best to you!
