As far as I'm concerned, this is the place you want to see live music in Austin.

I saw Stone Temple Pilots here, and the first thing that struck me is that there wasn't a bad seat in the house. I had floor tickets, but even if I'd stayed back by the bar, I'd still be closer to the stage than I've been at many venues. When I decided to fight my way down close to the stage, it was literally. right. there. I think Scott Weiland was close enough to grab my camera right out of my hand. I know I was frightened he might.

If you choose not to brave the crowds, the balconies might have better seats than the floor. I'm not sure, because I've not sat up there, but you'll certainly feel close to the action and have very good sight lines.

The acoustics are extremely good and the sound system as good as I've heard anywhere that routinely plays good old fashioned rock and roll. Plus, it always seems to be filled with a mellower crowd that's there to enjoy the music, not get drunk and start fights.

And the venue is gorgeous.

Seriously, what's not to like here?
