I came to Dr. Goldberg for a second opinion. I wanted both a second reading of my MRIs and an opinion on the best surgical solution for whatever was wrong with me. The first surgeon I had consulted (the one that happens to be local) had told me that I had two disks that needed repair and that I was a candidate for disk replacement.

Dr. Goldberg spent a great deal of time walking me through the MRIs and explaining why he felt that I needed to address the herniations in three locations. He also explained why disk replacement was contra-indicated in my case. I got a very good understanding from him of how the surgery would go, what the recovery would be like, and what the risks down the road would be.

I felt that Dr. Goldberg and his PA Katie represented the height of professionalism throughout our consultation. He didn't dumb down or tell me what I wanted to hear.

I haven't yet decided my long-term care plan, but I was incredibly grateful for the professional and caring consultation I received at Rush. Highly recommend.
