It started as a Shiva statue behind the erstwhile Kemp Fort, before becoming a mini temple and a minor tourist destination of Bangalore in its own right.
What's special about this place?
- Probably the biggest Shiva statue in Bangalore and it looks good.
- It was painted blue originally, the current color is more classy.
- The older folk seem to be quite keen on seeing this, whenever I have senior citizen visitors, I take them here and they go all gaga over this statue.
What is not good?
- Though the basic temple should be free, they try to push visitors into paying for non-essential things.
- They are running a business, agreed, but don't make it so obviously commercial.
- Other than the Shiva statue, everything else is not worth it, so skip everything.
Tip: Park at the Mall, Check out the Shiva statue, Skip all the other 'Linga Darshan' and other paid stuff, go to McD's in the mall and you can probably get your parking coupon redeemed if you are buying a burger.
