This is a beautiful, full-service hotel. Of particular note is that there is PARKING on-site (unusual sometimes for a downtown location such as this). You enter the parking through a gate and the cost is $14 per day. The lot seems very secure since there is a fence all the way around it.
When you enter the lobby, it is gorgeous. Beautiful floors and furniture and there are all kinds of meeting rooms for conventions and such. There are several "sitting" areas around the lobby and a nice business center area. The courtyard out to the pool is beautifully landscaped and the pool is very private and surrounded by lovely gardens. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice and professional.
My room was on the 3rd floor. It was a big room with a SUPER comfy king sized bed. There's a nice closet, as well as some shelving for my stuff. There's also a desk, big screen TV and a cabinet with a safe, coffee pot for 1 with supplies, and a microwave - everything you need.
The linens were beautiful and white and clean and soooo comfortable. Thee were lots of plush towels in the bathroom. I loved the cloth shower curtain in the bathroom. The bathroom was very small, but also very functional with enough counterspace to store your stuff. There was a little shelving underneath the sink to put your stuff or keep the towels.
The location of this hotel is superior. It is downtown and walking distance to the "City Place" shopping plaza. Plenty of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. I was here for a concert at the Kravitz Center and it took me about 5 minutes to walk there, which is EXCELLENT considering the traffic coming out of the place after the show. It was nice to just walk back to my hotel quickly. You have to cross 1 busy street, but there is a good crosswalk. A quick drive north on Australian puts you at a HUGE outlet shopping center (includes more restaurants and a Whole Foods grocery store).
I will mention this, but I believe I received this perk because I am a Marriott Elite member. In the evening, there was a very nice light dinner in the concierge lounge. It was wonderful - not just some chips and crackers, it was a light really nice meal. The woman in the area was WONDERFUL, so nice and pleasant. That was a cool perk. I also went there for a great breakfast - oh, it was soooo good. It was a different woman, but equally as nice and efficient. Again, I believe I got this perk for being a Marriott member. It was complimentary. There is a full service restaurant and room service also (just not complimentary)
So, that's the pros. Here's the 1 con: This hotel is expensive. For the date I stayed 4/3/2019, the rate was over $200. The rate varies between $200 a night and close to $400 a night. (I used Marriott points, so I really shouldn't even be whining about it!!) Even though I used my points for the 1 night stay, I still had to pay the $14 parking (usually, a parking rate is included when you use points, but it definitely was not here - again, I shouldn't be whining about $14-bucks). This is a high-end hotel, which I don't usually stay in; I stayed here for the location. I was definitely out of my league - ha ha!
Oh, oh, oh, the BEST! I was so excited to see "recycle" bins in the lobby and by the ice dispensers on my floor. I do not see a lot of recycling services implemented when I travel, so I'm excited when I do. I love it! Good for them!!
If I come to another show at the Kravitz center I will definitely stay here again -- I'll just dress a little nicer! Ha ha.
