We were passing through on our way back to Tenness...

We were passing through on our way back to Tennessee and picked this place solely on reviews. The atmosphere was nice and they were definitely packed, so it must be worth the wait.

While we waited for our table to become available, we noticed that the hostess did not practice general hand washing when needed. She had dropped a pen on the floor and shortly after recovering it, she was asking to carry some orders to a table, she did not wash her hands.

After we were seated, our servers Allison and Emma were great. Shortly after we received our appetizers, one of the other staff members walked by our table and went to pick up a plate from our table that we weren t finished with. Mind you none of the staff members were wearing gloves.

Once our entries arrived, everything looked amazing. My wife took a bite of her medium rare fillet and the grill marks were severely charred and the taste of burnt was overwhelming. Having reservations of saying anything about it, I tried to cut the outer layer off her fillet attempting to save it. Our servers walked by and asked if everything was okay. They asked if the fillet was too tough and we explained what I was doing.

Allison requested that we let her address the cook with our issue and get a new fillet cooked correctly. The same staff member that tried to grab our unfinished plate earlier came to our table to explain why the fillet was cooked like it was. That they use a char grill and it is supposed to have char marks. We should not have had to defend our reasoning but we did explain that their grill heat must be too high to burn, not sear, a medium rare fillet.

The only decent take away from our one and only experience was that Allison and Emma were amazing!
