Went in at 4 am with severe pain in my left rib cage. I have been here a few times before in the past and had a good experience related to other symptoms. This time I've been having acute pain in my abdomen for some time due to a liver problem. I was short of breath because it hurt to breathe. I didn't say anything about heart problems. The first thing done before taking me to a room was an ekg to test my heart. The young nurse with short black hair wouldn't make eye contact with me as she placed about 14 diodes on my chest, shoulders, stomach, and legs. The test came back negative which was not surprising to me yet the nurse acted like it confirmed her suspicion there is nothing wrong with me, as though it were a ruse to receive narcotics. The worst part is when she was done she grabbed the main line that lead to all the diodes and pulled it fast and hard ripping of all the diodes at once, ouch! When I went into the er room the Dr didn't show very much willingness to see what could cause so much pain, suggesting I slept on my side. LAME! The Dr ordered an ex ray of my lungs, and finally after 90 minutes said nothing is wrong and had the nurse give me a shot of ibuprofen just before I left, meaning I had to suffer in extreme pain that entire time. Later that day my specialist from Jewish Hospital called saying St Francis should have considered digestive possibilities sense the region of pain involved the organs such as kidneys and liver. They obviously assumed I was there for a fix and fricken didn't bother looking at my medical file over the years. My pain Dr told me to tell any er that I am under his care which should automatically assure the Dr I'm not an addict. So now I have to go to urgent care again for the simple blood tests the Dr should have done if he weren't so lazy. I called and made a complaint regarding the dumb ass nurse who tore off the wires. If there is no resolution I may sue as a matter of principle.
