Casual animal cruelty on parade. It hurt to see how unhappy some of the animals were, especially the primates and big cats. One of the chimps was hiding his head in a bucket because he had no privacy from the onlookers and no reprieve from the blaring concert that was going on inside the zoo. One baboon had no better option than to plant his face against a wooden pillar. The signs of misery were everywhere. Not something I'd like my children to think is appropriate animal caretaking.
