We found Pollyanna Events on the Thumbtack website...

We found Pollyanna Events on the Thumbtack website and based on good reviews, we scheduled a meeting. After meeting them, we didn t continue researching wedding planners.
We met with Sarah and Kristina in DC. They immediately put us at ease and I appreciated that they had a younger more relaxed vibe. While their work is meticulous, don t let their relaxed vibe fool you, I didn t want to work with a society maven type. We are an older couple, mid-40s, and wanted a lovely, intimate wedding but wanted to be smart with our budget and not let things get out of control. I m sure Pollyanna Events works with all budgets and visions beautifully, but we appreciated that they didn t pressure us into a certain aesthetic. I would say that I was not an Instagram bride. We met with them in April and wanted to be married by Thanksgiving, and they wasted no time getting us in gear.
We contracted with Pollyanna Events to help us with a venue search/contract and vendor search/contract, as well as the day-of coordination. They were happy to mix and match their services. The contract process was easy and they were responsive to our questions. We were very comfortable with the cost. If you don t hire a wedding planner, specifically Pollyanna Events, for at least your day-of coordination, you re crazy!
They gave us spreadsheets for potential venues and vendors (DJ, dessert, caterers, florist, hair and make-up, and photographer) based on availability and our estimated budget. They gathered so much information that would ve taken us so long to compile. They kept us on track without hounding us. They were responsive to all of our questions and concerns and really helped us have relatively stress-free wedding planning. We had a few conference calls during the process and then a walk-through at the venue right before the wedding. As a pretty detail-oriented and anxious person, it was wonderful to know that a competent and creative team was working on our wedding, especially as it got closer to the day. They worked with us to create a somewhat non traditional room set up. They had great ideas and I trusted that it would all work out.
Our day-of coordinator was Danielle. She was such a calming presence. She was with me all day. I didn t pull out paperwork or check the schedule or worry, she just handled everything and kept me calm. I ended up getting dressed by myself and she helped me with fastening my shoes and pinning my bra! She really went above and beyond. She helped manage the floral delivery and the photographer and the bridal party, and she organized the first look.
When we got to the ceremony/reception site, I got teary seeing how lovely they made the venue (Top of the Town) look. They made our relatively simple decor look so elegant! The evening went beautifully, Danielle was a subtle but powerful force, she kept things perfectly on schedule.
Hiring Pollyanna Events was the best wedding planning decision we made, and the best money we spent. We highly recommend the wonderful team at Pollyanna Events.
