I had booked this hotel for one night using MMT and paid the full amount while booking. On arrival and check in, the hotel says I have to pay 8800 towards Mandatory New Year Gala Dinner for two people. This was apparently mentioned in the voucher as a foot note on last page. It's a non cancellation booking and the hotel forces you to either pay up the mandatory Gala Dinner or loose the booking amount. It is holding a person to ransom knowing very well no other hotels will be available on 31st. This is absolutely fraudulent selling on behalf of the hotel and MMT. I will ensure I file a consumer case and ensure that this hotel either shuts down or pays up for holding customers to ransom. Completely unexpected from Sheraton group.
