The first review, by Mr Sim, that I read on here was a complaint - of the sort made by people who buy a house near an airfield and then campaign to stop the noise... I would hazard a guess that White Waltham has been there since before the complainant was born, having been set up in 1928... in the 1950s it was a commercial/military field, housing Home Command's VIP squadron and with Fairey Aviation testing their incredible Rotodyne - which you could hear from the testing pans all the way to Knowl Hill! I was only a toddler, but the sight of this flying carpet in action has never left me!!
Oh yes, it is also physically impossible for an aircraft NOT to fly at under 200 ft just after take off - they are really not just trying to be nasty to you!
